Psychotherapy
St John’s Wort
Open and golden
Like the sun
This light
Is within
Everyone
I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist with an MA in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy from the Institute of Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE) and am trained in many other modalities including gestalt psychotherapy and eco psychotherapy. At the heart of my work is the direct experience that we have an innate wisdom that can be obscured by challenging and traumatic life events. I often remind the people I work with that there is nothing wrong with them and that our work together is to support them to realise their own true nature. We simply need to let go of the thoughts and experiences that are limiting this knowing to restore and maintain a healthy balance and rhythm within our own lives.
Working relationally, with kindness, deep listening, acceptance and authenticity, also lies at the heart of my practice. It is my experience that this is what truly facilitates trust and change rather than any particular theoretical approach. Having said that, I am particularly inspired by the natural world and our own deep earth body wisdom. When this somatic knowing is expressed through art and poetry it can be profoundly healing.
In addition to working one to one and with couples, I have taught body psychotherapy, nature-based therapy and transpersonal psychotherapy as a guest lecturer at Greenwich University. I specialise in working with grief and loss, disability, death and dying, trauma, neurodiversity, menopause, work and wellbeing, relationships and relating, and managing significant life changes both planned and unplanned.
I work online and in person in consulting rooms in Hove and in a nature-based setting within the South Downs National Park.
“When I think of Lynne, I think of an individual who has high levels of integrity and honesty and is exceptionally professional in her approach. She is articulate and eloquent and has an openness that engages others in discussion and disclosure. I have found Lynne to be sensitive to difference, reflective in her practice, able to hold confidences and sensitive to boundaries of care. I would not hesitate in personally endorsing her as a trustworthy, reliable and committed therapist who works in the best interests of her clients.”Annette Jones, Psychotherapist Supervisor and Trainer
